In this chapter, we engage with the concept of “choreography” both on a broader social spectrum—to consider a scene of communal practice through the ways bodies and other presences position themselves and/or are positioned—and in dance, as a device that organizes movements and materialities, space–time intensities, the distribution of forces and potentials, thus energizing an agency of political–poetic nature in an ethical bond: the relationship between each of us within the weaving of the whole and its dramaturgical circuits. The work Dance Library (Direction: Jorge Alencar e Neto Machados. Performers: Cândida Monte, Larissa Lacerda, Luana Bezerra, Priscila Pontes, Ruan Wills, among others. Choreographic installation (180 min.), 2017) will be highlighted in this discussion for proposing a convivial technology that seeks to rehearse temporary communities between artists and audiences, aiming to question: what life can we compose together? What can an encounter with a work of art do in someone’s life and in the life of a collective?
