This chapter presents an analytical framework which translates the principles laid out in the tree into practical analytical guidance. It is designed to provide an example for how researchers may implement the combined approach when conducting textual analysis. To do so, it offers possible steps to take in the research programme, with examples from empirical work on BrexitBrexit campaign discoursediscourse to illustrate potential avenues for analysis and offer practical tips to researchers and students. It is emphasised throughout that this framework is not prescriptive and is instead intended as a starting point to be adapted to suit the needs of a project. The first part focuses on the decisions and considerations that take place before collecting any datadata. The second section details strategies for data collection, as well as filtering and presentation methods. Next, the chapter outlines suggestions for preliminary analysis to identify key ideas through both manual and computerised techniques. The fourth section deals with in-depth analysis, covering a range of different techniques drawing from each of the traditions. Finally, options for the interpretation and presentation of findings are put forward, illustrating how discursive structures can be represented to illustrate the associations between different ideas.
