Creating Value for Batteries in Western Australia: Traversing the Manufacturer Perspective
摘要
The adoption of batteries has become an integral part of the energy transition process involving a non-reliance on conventional energy. The decarbonization goals involve batteries as a seminal element in various sectors such as electricity and mobility. The proliferation of batteries depends on various stakeholders involved in the processes from manufacturing to their end-of-life. The study focuses on the perspectives of battery manufacturers to analyze the value creation prospects of battery as a commodity. The responsibility of a manufacturer does not end with selling the product to the retailer or the consumer. Current business models necessitate a circular approach, wherein the manufacturer is capable of integrating services that meet the consumer requirements toward the end-of-life of the product. The energy transition landscape is complex and involves severe market competition among stakeholders such as manufacturers. The study analyzes the battery manufacturing landscape in Western Australia, considering factors required to create value for batteries as a commodity among consumers.
