Make no mistake climate change is happening. Now. Not in fifty years, twenty years or even a decade, but now. We seem incapable, or rather unwilling, to stop it. We truly face an existential threat like no other in recorded history. Our planet is small, land mass is limited but population growth is exponential. By 2050, there will be close to 10 billion human beings requiring food, space to live, and the basic means to clothe and feed themselves let alone to enjoy what many of us have come to view as being necessary to a happy life, comfortable homes, and prosperity. In this paper, some examples of the devasting results of climate change, that is, floods, fires, and desertification and drought will be discussed. Renewable energy progress will be examined. It is hoped that most countries will actively involve using renewable energy for daily energy use and phase out the use of fossil fuels. It is not enough to talk about climate change, what is needed is action regardless of political and social differences.
