Impact of Physicochemical Parameters on Uranium Mobility and Solubility in Water
摘要
The occurrence of uranium content in water sources is presently a topic of concern at the global level owing to health-associated implications among inhabitants. In this chapter, an attempt has been made to understand the role of numerous physicochemical characteristics in its transportation, solubility, and complexation. These characteristics include redox potential, pH, and different complexing agents, such as carbonate, phosphate, and sulfate. Furthermore, uranium occurrence in groundwater sources in different parts of the country is also a focus. This chapter provides significant insights into the understanding of uranium behavior in different aqueous systems to aid in the adoption of effective remedial measures.
