This chapter analyses and interprets the findings from the primary research. By analysing and discussing the results based on the research findings the inter-relationship of the key variables of sustainable behaviour, sustainable architecture, education for sustainable development and behavioural change theory is presented. The synthesis of these factors highlights the mechanisms for change identified from the case studies linked to findings from behavioural change psychology and are presented in terms of the overall hypothesis that sustainable buildings encourage sustainable behaviour in relation to the three pillars of economic, environmental and social sustainability.
