Digital mobility services are facilitated within an ecosystem characterised by the utilisation of digital platforms. The framework governing their provision is influenced by autonomous vehicles and necessitates the processing of substantial volumes of data, which includes information that enables the identification of individuals. This chapter examines the sources of legal regulations pertaining to privacy protection, along with the legal challenges associated with the scope, purpose, and legal foundation of personal data processing, while taking into account the particularities of utilising autonomous vehicles and delivering services via digital platforms. Furthermore, an analysis of ‘data power’, ‘gatekeeping power’, and ‘infrastructural power’ has been integrated, along with the established regulatory framework designed to mitigate such power. The principles governing the confidentiality of electronic communications have also been discussed.
