In India, NCDs are projected to cause 53% of all deaths, with estimated economic losses reaching $237 billion in the coming years due to early deaths from heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Addressing chronic disease requires a multifaceted strategy focused on prevention and effective management. Preventive measures, such as diet, exercise, and avoiding tobacco, could prevent 80% of premature heart disease, stroke, and diabetes cases, and 40% of cancers. Wearable devices have become pivotal in chronic disease management, offering real-time health data, enhancing patient engagement, and supporting lifestyle changes. Devices like smartwatches, fitness trackers, and biosensors enable continuous monitoring, providing essential insights for personalized care. Studies show that integrating wearable technology into chronic care management may reduce hospitalizations and improve symptoms. Collaboration among technology developers, healthcare providers, and patients will be essential to maximize these devices’ benefits while ensuring data privacy and security.
