Ecology Out of Time: Kairos and Temporal Problems
摘要
Turning to the problem of time for environmental inquiry, this chapter investigates the ways that temporality shapes climate change and environmental crisis communication. An early focus on stability in ecological models failed to account for rapid environmental change. This chapter applies concepts like kairos and deep time to the evolution of temporality in ecosystems ecology, and it considers how shifting rhetorical frameworks of time can help ecological inquiry move beyond the rhetoric of crisis.
