The global market is flooded with nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals claiming to be of natural origin. Nutraceuticals is the term derived from “nutrition” and “pharmaceuticals,” thus having nutritional as well as medicinal importance. Nutraceuticals such as silymarin, curcumin, vitamin E, docosahexaenoic acid, choline, and phosphatidylcholine are used in treating and preventing steatosis. Nutraceuticals could suffer from ineffective targeting, poor solubility, low permeability, fast metabolism, and other limitations which can be overcome by NDDS. They enhance the stability of nutraceuticals by preventing physical and chemical degradation and prevent plasma concentration fluctuation. Drug stability affects the safety and efficacy of the drug product; degradation impurities may cause a loss of efficacy and generate possible adverse effects. Stability and thermal analysis of few nutraceutical formulations were emphasized in this work. Naturovita is used as a food supplement to support respiratory health for which shelf life was determined by two different types of stability studies, an accelerated study and a real-time study. Pharmaceutical products are generally subjected to accelerated stability testing; the interpretation of the result provides the shelf life of the product. Stability studies on nutraceutical rejuvenator powder formulation for determination of moisture content and ash values of herbal crude drug and formulated batches. Stability testing of the prepared herbal syrup was performed on keeping the samples at accelerated temperature conditions. The final syrup was taken and kept at accelerated temperature at 4 °C, room temperature, and 47 °C, respectively. Nutraceutical using NDDS can enhance the activity and retain the shelf life of bioactive compounds and treat various diseases.

摘要
