Artificial Vision System for Validating Personal Protective Equipment in Advertising Companies

Artificial Vision, also known as Computer Vision, is a field of Artificial Intelligence used for object recognition. Artificial Intelligence is a breakthrough for the technological world and has brought us countless benefits. Currently, most companies around the world validate the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) manually, using the observation method. This manual validation method is error-prone due to the inherent unreliability of the human eye and is costly, requiring a trained individual in each area. The main objective of this experimental research is to improve the validation of PPE in an advertising company in Peru, by means of an artificial vision system. An agile methodology, specifically Scrum, was chosen for its adaptability to the research requirements. The results of the research were positive, as it was possible to significantly reduce detection and reporting times, as well as to reduce costs and increase worker satisfaction.
