This article explores the concept of “constructive anthropocentrism” as a potential pathway to rebalance eco-philosophical discourse in the Anthropocene and transition toward the Symbiocene. In contrast to destructive anthropocentrism, which prioritises unbounded human dominance over nature, and ecocentric perspectives that decentralise humanity entirely, constructive anthropocentrism seeks a middle ground. It emphasises reciprocal participation, where human creativity aligns with ecological and cosmic systems to create benefits for both. By examining eco-philosophical discourse, the evolution of human consciousness, and successful biodynamic initiatives Apricot Lane Farms and SEKEM, the article explores how constructive anthropocentrism can foster a mutual beneficial, reciprocal relationship between humanity and nature.
