This chapter will concentrate on the I as essential constituent of anthroposophical principles. The notion of the “I” presupposed by anthroposophy could be in fact an inexhaustible source of productive, both theoretical and practical implications regarding any discourse on sustainable development. In the horizon of anthroposophy, the I is perceived as an eminently and unrestrictedly dialogical principle, transcending any perspective or unilateral identification with the self, and thus capable of manifesting the human being as a protagonist of impulses not rooted in egoism or narcissism, but in openness and self-givingness toward every other being and the world.
