Enterprise modeling (EM) software tool development is supported by a variety of software platforms, each of which has its own strengths. One such platform, ADOxx, offers an environment for developing and using EM languages with relatively little coding effort. However, for a metamodel, ADOxx offers limited metamodel consistency checking facilities, whereas for a model ADOxx is limited in its well-formedness checking capabilities. In our earlier work, we complemented ADOxx with Alloy, a lightweight formal method which natively offers extensive (meta)model checking capabilities. As such, (meta)models created in ADOxx can be checked for their consistency in Alloy. Nevertheless, the relation between ADOxx and Alloy was realized in an ad hoc way, relying on a series of manual steps of XML exporting, parsing, and importing. In this chapter, we report on a dynamic integration between ADOxx and Alloy called ADoy. We show how both the model and metamodel checking capabilities of Alloy can be triggered automatically from within ADOxx. We reflect on the ability of ADoy to perform consistency checks on ADOxx libraries.

摘要
