摘要

Today, artificial intelligence (AI) is entering all areas of life. AI will revolutionize research libraries by improving service efficiency and engaging users. This report examines the applications of AI in research libraries, from enhanced search capabilities and personalized recommendations to optimized resource management and automated cataloging. It is shown that AI systems could analyze user behavior and preferences, thereby suggesting relevant resources to improve the user experience. AI in cataloging automates processes by automatically classifying and indexing materials, saving manual effort and increasing their accuracy. Advanced search capabilities powered by AI allow users to retrieve information more efficiently using natural language processing and semantic search techniques. Ethical considerations, data privacy concerns, and the need for staff training are some of the challenges in integrating AI into research libraries. Libraries will need to be transparent about the implementation of AI-based services. The ability to manage and deploy AI tools requires specialized high-end training. Therefore, investment in staff development is imperative. Notwithstanding all these challenges, the integration of AI technologies in research libraries has great potential to transform and improve the delivery of information services towards meeting the emerging user needs in the digital age.
