The Impact of AI on Future Social Entrepreneurs’ Sense of Purpose: A Study of Gen Zs in Mexico
摘要
The next generation of entrepreneurs who have begun their undergraduate studies are contemplating their sense of purpose and the direction they will take with the advent of new technologies. Members of Generation Z (Gen Zers) were born in the digital era, they gravitate toward social justice and sustainability, tend to favor entrepreneurship, and are now experiencing the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI). Despite their preference for digital learning, work, and socialization, it is unclear whether they perceive AI as a potential enhancer or deterrence to engage in entrepreneurial activities and fulfill their sense of purpose. As such, the study’s research questions are: How does Gen Z’s perception of their sense of purpose impact on their intention to become social entrepreneurs? And how does their perception of AI influence the potential curbing of their sense of purpose? The study contributes to previous literature related to entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, AI, and Gen Z behavior.
