Bridging the Gap: Generative AI for Personalized Learning and Tutoring
摘要
Generative AI is modifying the way we learn, especially when dealing with intelligent tutoring systems (ITS). Powerful language models like ChatGPT help these systems create content that adjusts to fit the unique learning styles of students —something traditional methods struggle with. This shift makes learning more flexible and accessible for different learning styles. But there’s a catch. To get the most out of AI-powered tutoring, students and educators need AI literacy—especially in prompt engineering—to interact with these tools effectively. The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework plays a key role in making AI-based learning fair and accessible while addressing moral considerations and teaching strategies. Automated natural language processing(NLP) systems provide instant feedback, but they’re not perfect. They sometimes misinterpret complex answers, and there’s ongoing debate about AI’s impact on creativity, language accuracy, and student independence. Over-reliance on AI-generated content is another concern, which means educators need to rethink curricula and invest in professional development.
