The present irrelevance of philosophy raises the question of utility of philosophy. There are several views of utility of philosophy, but this chapter considers them and argues that they are not valid. Alternatively, the chapter argues that utility of philosophy consists in the fact that philosophy can open new ways to knowledge and lead to the birth of new sciences.
