Developing the view that philosophy is acquisition of knowledge also requires answering the question: What is the relation of knowledge to naturalization? As regards knowledge, ‘naturalization’ means any position that implies that knowledge is a natural process. There are several views of naturalization. This chapter considers them and argues that they are not valid. Alternatively, the chapter argues that naturalization consists in considering knowledge as a life function that serves to solve problems of biological life and, in the case of human beings, also of cultural life, by the analytic method.
