Knowledge and Objectivity
摘要
Developing the view that philosophy is acquisition of knowledge also requires answering the question: What is the relation of knowledge, in particular scientific knowledge, to objectivity? It has been claimed that objectivity in science is impossible, but this chapter argues that this is unjustified. There are several views of objectivity, the chapter considers them and argues that they are not valid. Alternatively, the chapter argues that objectivity consists in plausibility.
