Material Jetting
摘要
Material jetting (MJT) is a type of AM in which a product is formed only from the material deposited as per the design of the product. The material is deposited using a nozzle or nozzle-like device. The only source of the material of the product is the material deposited from the nozzle or nozzle-like device. This type of AM is known by other names as well, such as direct ink writing, inkjet 3D printing, etc. MJT does not include binder jetting (BJT), as BJT is a different AM technique. In BJT, as the name implies, binder is jetted to make a product. The purpose of the binder, as the name implies, is to bind materials to make a product. Thus, two types of materials are required in BJT to make a product: one is a binder, and the other is a building material to be bound. There is a restriction on how the building material will be sourced.
