This contribution highlights the initial research updates conducted within the framework of the MAGIC project. The project is a collaborative effort between the Department of Humanistic Studies and the Department of Physics “Ettore Pancini” at the University of Naples “Federico II,” along with three established commercial companies specialized in technology applied to cultural heritage. The primary objective of the project is to establish a Service Center dedicated to the digitization, preservation, and knowledge enrichment of documentary and bibliographic heritage. This abstract provides insights into the preliminary experiments undertaken, with a specific focus on the digitization of illuminated manuscripts portraying Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy.
