Visualizing Architecture: ExplorArq Barrio Abajo, a Virtual Museum Experience for Cultural Heritage Dissemination
摘要
Barrio Abajo is a neighborhood located in Barranquilla, Colombia. This area is one of the oldest in the city and is known for its historical richness, evidenced by its intangible and tangible heritage. Currently, architecture is the result of cultural evolution, and therefore, the regulations aim to preserve and protect it as a legacy. Nevertheless, the architectural heritage of Barrio Abajo has undergone a process of loss, alteration, and oblivion attributed to the lack of knowledge of its importance and its past. For this reason, it is necessary to create a dissemination project that makes it possible to publicize the historical, cultural, and aesthetic values of buildings. ExplorArq Barrio Abajo is a self-funded initiative that provides the community with a virtual museum that facilitates access to information on historical structures through an immersive and educational experience. This paper delves into the development process, exposing the methodology and tools used in the creation of the project.
