The ability of smartphone Contact List (CL) to extend the user’s memory has been pushed to its limit by research carried out in the 2010 decade in Ubiquitous Computing. Developed algorithms have been implemented by industrials to facilitate the retrieval of contacts, namely based on recency or frequency and more recently based on social relations. In this paper, we investigate how to push back the existing limits of the CL ability to extend the user’s memory. We adopt the MOM (Modeling, Organisation, Middleware) approach for context-aware systems development and design a new CL based on social relations with the novelty of adding a modeling of the context, so to capture the essence of the context that motivates every new entry in the CL. We have developed the new CL application using W3C standard technologies of semantic web and React Native mobile development framework. We succeeded in testing a variety of functions, from the more traditional to those taking advantage of the new design, including extended contact search and context-aware functions.

摘要
