This study investigates the impact of e-governance, innovation, and digitalization on e-commerce adoption in Ecuadorian companies. Using data from 3,747 firms, the research examines how e-governance enhances e-commerce through streamlined processes and secure digital transactions. Logit and probit models are used, widely used in studies related to the adoption of e-commerce. The findings reveal that e-governance has a significant positive effect on e-commerce adoption, with innovation and digitalization also playing critical roles. While innovation positively influences e-commerce, its interaction with e-governance is not statistically significant. Digitalization, however, exhibits a stronger direct impact on e-commerce, indicating the importance of digital communication channels. These results highlight the need for continued investment in digital infrastructure and innovation to support e-commerce growth in developing economies like Ecuador. The study provides insights for policymakers to improve e-governance frameworks, fostering digital entrepreneurship and competitiveness.
