The implementation of technologies based on Industry 4.0 in production processes offers a fundamental support for decision-making and resource optimisation. This study proposes solutions based on process simulation using discrete events to improve the efficiency of operations in a tanning company. Using simulation by means of FlexSim software, the results obtained in the experimentation show that increasing the manpower or machine is a viable strategy for the processes. These results show that the production capacity can be improved by 33.50%. These findings can be applied in various fields of industry and be a tool for conscious decision making to significantly improve production operations.
