This chapter provides an introspective exploration of art’s relationship with space, freedom, and institutional critique. It reflects on the artist’s experience with the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale from 2019 to 2021, during which he conceptualized “stealing” a wall. This creative act symbolized artistic appropriation and decentralization, as well as a rejection of conventional institutional constraints. Supported by curator Alessandro Melis, Aceti removed a temporary wall, which he re-contextualized as a performative object. Placing it in rural Italy, he used it as both a physical and symbolic space to engage with local sociopolitical histories, juxtaposing it against modern-day cultural dynamics.

摘要
