The Effective and Responsible Leadership in Hotel Management and Its Influence on the Organizational Culture Awareness
摘要
The hospitality industry relies heavily on effective leadership and a conducive organizational culture to drive success and guest satisfaction. However, there remains a gap in understanding the interplay between leadership competencies and the organizational cultural atmosphere within this context. This study seeks to address this gap by applying these in a hotel setting. Using a quantitative correlational approach, data was collected from 55 participants, comprising five managers and 50 employees, through purposive sampling. The modified survey employed assessed leadership competencies and organizational cultural atmosphere. Results indicate that respondents generally agreed on leadership competencies and organizational cultural atmosphere, with specific demographic groups exhibiting higher assessments in certain areas. Notably, younger employees in the housekeeping department demonstrated stronger perceptions of leadership competencies, while nonmanagerial staff in the same department reported a more positive organizational cultural atmosphere. This study contributes to the growing knowledge of hotel management. By recognizing the impact of demographic factors on perceptions, organizations can tailor leadership development initiatives and employee engagement strategies to foster a more inclusive and effective work environment. A significant recommendation emerging from this study is the need for hotels to implement cross-departmental collaboration initiatives to leverage diverse perspectives and promote a cohesive organizational culture.
