Efficiency Assessment of Container Terminals: The Case of Southwest Asia’s Ports
摘要
As global trade expands and maritime transport becomes increasingly essential, the efficiency of container terminals plays a critical role in facilitating seamless trade flow and supporting economic growth. This research examines the efficiency of container terminals in Southwest Asia using the Super Slack-Based Measure Data Envelopment Analysis (SBM-DEA) methodology. The study focuses on the operational performance of twenty container terminals across nine countries. The findings reveal significant disparities in efficiency levels among these terminals, with efficient ports serving as benchmarks for others to enhance their performance. These insights offer valuable implications for port authorities, shipping companies, and policymakers, contributing to a deeper understanding of maritime logistics and trade dynamics in the region.
