Nowadays, sustainability has emerged as an essential component when assessing organizational practices, and our sector, the automobile industry, is under increased scrutiny due to its tremendous environmental and social impacts. The main objective of this research is to systematically identify and evaluate the social sustainability indicators that are most pertinent to the Indian automobile industry and emphasize how social sustainability contributes to the well-being of society throughout decades. The researcher used principal component analysis (PCA) to find critical social sustainability indicators in the Indian automobile industry. The outcomes indicated that the most significant determinants were gender diversity and workplace safety (LTIFR), followed by retention rate and board diversity. A dataset of 17 automobile companies listed on BSE and NSE in 2024 is used to provide insights for enhancing social sustainability practices. The study offers the Indian automobile industry useful advice on how to strengthen its social sustainability efforts by emphasizing on the most significant indicators. By giving these high-impact metrics a greater significance, these companies may enhance their brand values and bolster their contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
