Remote Assessment of the Efficiency of Soil Biorecultivation by the NDVI Vegetation Index

The aim of this work is to remotely assess the impact of biological soil reclamation on changes in the dynamics of the vegetation index (NDVI) of winter wheat crops and compare it with the intensity of soil respiration and yield. The object of the study was an 8-hectare experimental field of the Institute of Agriculture of the Kabardino-Balkarian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, located in the Tersky district of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, North-Caucasus, Russia. Observations were carried out in 2023–2024. To assess the possibility of leveling out spatial heterogeneity in crops, as well as comparing NDVI indicators with yield and one of the parameters of soil biological activity (basal respiration), the method of biological activation of the soil with agronomically valuable microorganisms in the form of commercial biopreparations Rizoplan was used (Pseudomonas fluorescence, strain AR-33), Azolen G (Azotobacter vinelandii IB-4), Ultrex (Trichoderma harzianum) and Mikotop (Trichoderma viride). The introduction of selected microorganisms was accompanied by an increase in both the vegetation index in winter wheat crops and its yield by 5.9%.
