R13—Global Risk Model 2015—Tsunami Component—Global Risk and Loss Computation
摘要
This chapter describes a recipe for conducting a global tsunami risk analysis, quantifying direct economic losses due to tsunami induced building damage. This analysis is one of the most comprehensive of the examples in the cookbook, involving a range of different ingredients in the same recipe, from source modelling, probabilistic analysis, to exposure and vulnerability. It describes the first global probabilistic tsunami hazard analysis, and how this hazard analysis serves as input to estimating potential economic losses. Being a global analysis, several potential limitations involved in such a broad analysis are described.
