An eruption event tree is developed to explore the natural variability of potential submarine volcanic explosions on the basis of past volcanic activity and to quantify the tsunami hazard conditional upon the occurrence of an underwater eruption at Campi Flegrei, Italy. This recipe requires a good knowledge on past eruptions (sizes of the vents and energy of explosions, inferred from geological data), as well as a good bathymetry of the study area.

摘要

An eruption event tree is developed to explore the natural variability of potential submarine volcanic explosions on the basis of past volcanic activity and to quantify the tsunami hazard conditional upon the occurrence of an underwater eruption at Campi Flegrei, Italy. This recipe requires a good knowledge on past eruptions (sizes of the vents and energy of explosions, inferred from geological data), as well as a good bathymetry of the study area.
