This chapter explores a diachronic corpus of Italian TV series addressed to older adolescents. Focusing on case studies of series that premiered from the late 1980s to 2021, the chapter adopts a corpus and textual linguistics methodology to scrutinise teen representation. This analysis investigates core features of Italian speech and teen talk in these series, aiming to detect the relationship between spontaneous and portrayed teen speech, as well as its variation across time and broadcasts. The quantitative survey supports a qualitative textual overview, which is aware of the multimodality of the medium and the issues teens cope with.
