Introduction
摘要
Outlining the book’s significance, central argument, and key findings, the introduction underscores the importance of approaching Islamic higher education through the perspectives of students. It presents the research questions: Why do students perceive studying Islamic theology in Turkey as meaningful? How do they experience their studies at Turkish theological faculties? And what do they take away from this period of education? The introduction further argues that understanding Islamic higher education requires centring students’ voices and experiences, while also drawing attention to the particularity of transnational educational biographies among German Muslim students.
