This study employs fuzzy logic methodology to analyze the complex nature of university-labor market cooperation in Azerbaijan. Through surveying university managers, academic staff, and employers, the research reveals significant ambiguity in perceptions regarding the current level of collaboration. While statistical tests show no significant differences in mean values among respondent groups, the fuzzy logic approach effectively captures nuanced perspectives and degrees of satisfaction. The analysis identifies several key challenges in the current cooperation framework, including inadequate employment opportunities for graduates, bureaucratic obstacles, and insufficient systematic collaboration. Despite positive developments like signed agreements, internships, and job fairs, stakeholders express considerable frustration with the existing partnership model. The research reveals that cooperation tends to focus narrowly on graduate employment rather than broader collaboration in scientific research, development, and social domains. Using MATLAB’s fuzzy toolbox, the study establishes a comprehensive logical inference model with three inputs: managers’ perspectives on cooperation levels, academic staff viewpoints, and employer satisfaction. Through membership functions and fuzzy rules, the study creates a more flexible and realistic representation of the complex relationships between universities and the labor market. The findings suggest the need for targeted interventions and systematic improvements to foster more robust partnerships between educational institutions and employers in Azerbaijan.
