Left and Right Aggregation (L-R Aggregation) Operator in Consensus of Decision Making in Fuzzy Environment

Human decision-making can be unpredictable; however, the outcomes of these decisions can often be more predictable. In the context of decision-making environments, research has explored various aspects such as consensus, deviation degree, linguistic performance relationships, linguistic variables, and fuzzy number ranking. This paper presents the concepts of left and right aggregation of consensus within a decision-making environment. It defines both positive and negative aggregations, demonstrating that the sum of left-right (L-R) aggregation equals zero, a fundamental property of this method. The study also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of group decision-making. To illustrate the concepts, the paper uses the results of the 2021 Tamil Nadu State Assembly general election as a case study, evaluating the left and right aggregation of public decisions and their corresponding outcomes. This example serves to validate the proposed methods and highlights how aggregation can be applied to better understand the dynamics of collective decision-making and its impact on election results.
