Who’s There?: Black Storytelling Legacies, Theatrical Histories, and Fat Ham

In this introduction, the editors contextualize Fat Ham within the cohort of Broadway plays it joined in the wake of Black Lives Matter and COVID-19. By participating in these conversations, Fat Ham opened the door for new sources of representation for Black, queer, and fat audiences. The play laid historic groundwork in regards to how it processed the intersection of these identities.
