In this note we explore the relation between question-answering in answer set programming and the interrogative model of scientific inquiry proposed by Jaakko Hintikka. To this end we extend the fixpoint property of propositional equilibrium models to the first order case. In this manner we obtain a rather close agreement between the interrogative model and question-answering in ASP; this may be relevant to the topic of explanatory ASP.
