The article reveals the specifics of the mechanism of digitalization of economic processes in the BRICS regions, taking into account the speed of implementation of digital and information technologies. The authors conducted a review of scientific research in the field of digitalization of industrial production, the study of advanced digital technologies and the assessment of the intensity of their application in different countries. Within the framework of the study, it is of particular im-portance to study methodological approaches to digitalization, automation of business systems, integration into business processes of new data processing technologies of modern information systems, artificial intelligence within the borders of the BRICS countries. A wide range of works is devoted to the study of the problems of technological and information and communication development of industrial sectors of the countries, the objects of research of which range from local digitalization and automation to a systematic approach to the digitalization of industries. To analyze the key research tools, a model of cluster analysis, a decision tree depending on the digital activity of industrial enterprises, was chosen. In the course of the study, the authors used a systematic approach, a method of comparative analysis, a modeling method, a cluster approach, and a dialectical method.
