In this note, we study central configurations in the 5-body problem with equal masses. We aim to show that the only central configuration \(\mathbf {q}=({\mathbf {q}}_1,\ldots ,{\mathbf {q}}_5)\) satisfies that each \({\mathbf {q}}_i\) is placed at a vertex of a polygon such that the central angle is \(\frac {2\pi }{5}\) and \(q_{1}=(1,0)\) . This configuration corresponds to a regular polygon.

摘要

In this note, we study central configurations in the 5-body problem with equal masses.
