Building Typologies and the Effects of Spatial Configurations on the Quality of Living Case Study: The City of Sarajevo
摘要
Urban areas present a variety of urban structures with diverse forms and dimensions. Upon analyzing office buildings, one may observe certain similarities, especially in their architectural design, which is shaped by the widespread implementation of the “desk system”. Upon analyzing office buildings, one may observe certain parallels, especially in their architectural design, which is shaped by the predominant utilization of the “desk system”. However, when analyzing residential buildings, variations in spatial arrangements become more evident as a result of distinct floor layouts and whether the housing is individual or collective. Each housing unit is dependent on its urban surroundings, which subsequently influences the quality of living in such places, with focus on health and urban pollution. So, it is reasonable to suppose that certain buildings, based on their designs, have a more significant influence on the quality living in urban areas compared to others. To determine the veracity of this claim, one can conduct an investigation by gathering data on the air quality in the vicinity of specific structures, the quantity of sunshine present, and the volume of noise generated at ground level. Aim of this research is to determine does and how layout of urban residential forms influence on quality of living. This study focused on a designated region inside the municipality of Novo Sarajevo in the city of Sarajevo. This region contains multiple types of residential structures with diverse spatial configurations. The objective of this selection is to compare data pertaining to various housing typologies. The scope area is defined by the streets that surround the block, measuring approximately 400 by 400 m. The analysis of the collected data has validated the theory, and the conclusions can be used to future developments.
