The chapter investigates Ukrainian civil society development before and after the full-scale Russian invasion along three parameters: (1) identities and values; (2) level and type of activity; and (3) relations between civil society and the political realm. Not only have the capacities of civil society actors and their ability to leverage resources increased, but a growing sense of identification with the Ukrainian nation and state has helped to consolidate (civil) society, reinforcing its resilience. The non-linear development of relations between civil society and political actors has motivated the former to become more flexible in its choice of instruments and increased its influence at the community level. Despite growing fatigue and a certain social routinisation of the full-scale war, the tendencies described above are likely to ensure an important role for civil society in the further democratisation and reconstruction of the country, given a sufficiently stable post-war context.

摘要
