Leadership in the AI Era: New Dynamics and Innovative Practices in the Moroccan Context

The objective of this work is to analyze the effect of digital transformation in the Moroccan context and its effect on dynamics and innovative practices, with the objective being to analyzing leadership styles in the AI era. The methodology applied is qualitative, based on a guide to interview with 10 participants with knowledge in the field of managerial innovation and AI. The result obtained showed that the perceptions of Moroccan leaders regarding artificial intelligence (AI) revealed a duality between those who see it as a tool for efficiency and innovation and those who raise ethical and organizational concerns. Key challenges identified include unequal access to technology, resistance to change, and a lack of technical training. However, AI also offers significant opportunities, such as improving the competitiveness of companies, creating jobs in technology start-ups, and transforming public services. To succeed, leaders must develop technical, change management, ethical, and emotional leadership skills. Limitations of research: The qualitative approach to this research could be complemented by a quantitative analysis. In addition, the generalization of results from a representative sample opens up opportunities for future research in other developing countries. Practical implications: Our results could be used to provide key indicators for managers of Moroccan companies adopting AI solutions. The guidelines aim to adopt new dynamics and innovative leadership practices in the AI era.
