摘要

AI has changed the way businesses work for the better, automated decision processes, and changed the way e-commerce, transport, and healthcare operate. For instance, YouTube, Amazon, Google, and Facebook use AI to customize and offer services and products to clients. At the same time, Uber uses AI technology for passenger-driver matching and fare pricing. However, reliance on AI technology rises concerns regarding its ethical and legal challenges such as discrimination in employment at Amazon, Michael Tay’s instances of racism, and Tesla’s self-driving car accidents. In this regard, and although AI is generally supported, critical voices perceive it as a threat, restricting its adoption, especially in the context of CSR initiatives. In this regard, this article explores the links between AI, CSR and ethics, pointing out the important issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals. Using the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework, AI ethical principles and Carroll’s CSR pyramid, this paper reviews the factors impacting the adoption of AI in line with an ethical perspective and CSR dimensions, in order to maintain adequate control, especially in the face of its ultra-rapid development.
