Design of Microgrid with Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Storage System
摘要
Several challenges have emerged with the expansion of the electric power grid and the increasing integration of intermittent renewable energy sources. This includes high costs for transmission infrastructure and the risk of major cascading outages that can really harm critical infrastructure very seriously. Wide recognition exists that microgrids are promising for increasing reliability and resilience, through ensuring that connected loads get continuous supplies of electricity. However, for efficient operation of microgrids, systems are needed to manage and control them. These systems must optimize performance of existing decentralized energy technologies in order to maintain efficiency and stability of the system. This paper looks at parts of a microgrid and the importance of them, and discusses a control technique to control electrical power and thus prevent system failure. Advanced technologies such as filtering techniques and fault diagnostics for insulated gate bipolar transistors have also been studied to boost system performance and dependability. This research will drive greater energy efficiency, make sure there is a continuous supply of energy, and stimulate more sustainable urban growth.
