This chapter presents the various forms of cooking existing in the Georgian woman’s life and her attitude to them, privileging her personal understanding of these processes over the previously existing discourses. The topics raised in the chapter make it possible to understand the meaning of cooking and feeding others for the women themselves and also how these processes combine the love for cooking and the love towards close people, the consequences the woman’s culinary skills have and how these skills were utilised by Georgian women in the difficult period that coincided with the collapse of the Soviet Union. A good deal of attention will be devoted to forms of female collaboration in the process of preparation for feasts and the factors influencing the construction of women as the agentic subject. The material presented will contribute to reflecting the multiplicity of women’s experiences where correlation of the woman’s activity with her family’s status is a key factor on the social arena.
