Shared Physical Feedback: Shared VR Space Integrated with Physical Feedback
摘要
The increasing demand for online communication can be attributed to a number of factors, including the need to enhance travel efficiency, promote diverse work styles, and address regional disparities. While numerous cloud-based video chat systems facilitate fundamental interaction through 2D video and audio, they frequently fall short in replicating the inherent sense of togetherness present in face-to-face communication. In this paper, we propose a system that extends shared virtual reality (VR) spaces into the real world by integrating multiple types of physical feedback. By facilitating the transmission of visual, auditory, tactile, and olfactory sensations through bidirectional interactions between the virtual and physical environments, the system substantially augments the perception of presence and collective experience. The objective of our approach is to reduce the discrepancy between conventional online communication and authentic face-to-face interaction.
