This summary covers the restoration, conservation, and reuse approach for Dumat Al-Jandal Archaeological Oasis and the study of ancient agronomic techniques and astronomical tools to trace the sky through the seasons. The study links the relationship between man looking upwards to the sky and down to the land. These traditional methods survived locally and are clearly reflected on our Arabian calendars. This intangible inherited tradition is translated into a museum through the project study and analysis. It continues with a tour of a new village that has a dialogue with the memories of the old “Aldir’s Islamic ruins village”. Specifically, the research and project on Dumat Al-Jandal were conducted thanks to the conservation methodology, which is understood as care for the historic building and the harmonious relationship between the old and the new project. Dumat Al-Jjandal “Adumatu” was and is considered geographically representative of the gate to Arabia, a resourceful oasis with water and agriculture. Over the centuries, Dumat Al-Jandal was believed to be an essential station in the complex system of trade routes crossing the Arabian Peninsula. On the other hand, Dumat Al-Jandal has all the ancient features of a city on a small scale that could be observed and studied. Initiatives like this must constitute an opportunity not only to promote the territory, its traditions, and its strengths, thus further enriching the range of cultural and tourist attractions that draw national and international visitors to Dumat Al-Jandal in ever more significant numbers, but also for residents and the next-door neighbours to broaden their knowledge of the area and its future.
