The medicinal plant Cistus ladaniferus is a member of the Cistaceae family and a dominant shrub species endemic to the western Mediterranean region. Given its prevalence and potential ecological, aromatic, and pharmacological applications, Cistus ladaniferus has been the subject of several studies. The present study aimed to highlight the physicochemical characteristics of this species to promote its valorization. Leaves were collected from the Mediterranean region of Morocco, specifically from the Rmilat forest in Tangier. After drying in the dark, grinding, and storing, the leaves were subjected to chemical analyses in the laboratory. Physicochemical analyses were then conducted to measure pH, acidity, refractive index, Brix index, and mineral, organic, and nitrogen content. The results indicated that the leaves were acidic (pH 5.01 ± 0.2), rich in water (48.04%), and contained significant levels of mineral, organic, and nitrogenous matter (5.31, 4.69, and 9.74%, respectively). These parameters can vary depending on the time of leaf collection and the climatic and edaphic conditions.
